Most importantly, always take off your jewelry when sleeping, playing sports, going in the water, or doing anything else that could dent it or expose it to moisture or chemicals.
Tarnish cleaning…soap and water…for heavier cleaning, use Blitz…ketchup, toothpaste, white vinegar and salt and a soft toothbrush
Shiny finish a polish cloth and/or a polishing cream labeled for the alloy, such as Blitz …., can restore the bright, just-out-of-the-box finish. Avoid using anything abrasive.
Hammered finish This can be tougher for removing heavy tarnish. Best to keep the piece away from moisture and in the protective pouch when not in use. A tarnish removing cream works well, perhaps using it more than once to a heavier build up. Soaking the piece in a solution of white vinegar and salt or even rubbing with ketchup, can also help.
Matte or brushed finish a gentle rub with steel wool can help refresh certain matte and brushed finishes. Use a fine steel wool or Scotch Brite pad in a test patch or on a piece of scrap metal to get a feel for the process.
Oxidized finish don’t touch! If a chemical comes in contact with the metal and removed the oxidation, you can send back for a refresh…
For pieces with a microcrystalline wax protective coating intended to slow down the natural darkening process, avoid use of a polishing cloth until tarnish is visible.
